Svein Tore is a freelance musician and conductor with the saxophone as his main instrument. His musical roots are based on norwegian folk music, big band, concert band and world music. He mainly conducts youth concert- and marching bands.
He comes from a small, but culturally rich place in the middle region of Norway called Inderøy - not far from the city Trondheim. He has a masters degree in Musicology from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and a one year program in Music Education from the University of Bergen. He is currently a student at the University of Stavanger's pioneer project called Digital Conductor Studies.
Svein Tore has had several projects abroad. Musical gigs at Lake of Stars in Malawi, musical exchange projects in Namibia, Gambia and Serbia, recording sessions in Ethiopia and masterclasses in Romania are some of the projects he has been a part of. He has also been to Sweden, Denmark, Italy and Spain with his youth concert bands.
